THE DAY OF THE Clean & Green Week Bazaar!!!!
Today is the day. THE DAY. 1000 PAMPHLETS. AIMED and ARMED TO SELL!

We loaded Abby's car with 3 whole tubs of squeaky toys, Southern Shores of Singapore pamphlets and posters the night before. 1000 PAMPHLETS. It was expected that 10,000 people will patron the Clean and Green Week bazaar. 1000...that's ONLY 10%. Am I right?

Did we manage to meet our goal? Did BWV manage to sell 1000 pamphlets? DID WE.. DID WE?!!??! What do you think? Take a guess. No? Yes? heheheh. What? You think I'm going to tell you?

Here's a hint. Oh LOOK! LOOK LOOK. Doesn't that guy with Tse-Lynn HOLDING THE SOUTHERN SHORES OF SINGAPORE PAMPHLET look familiar? Hmm? I could have SWORN I've seen him somewhere before. I wooonndderr wheeree... Hmmm.

Who da dude?

Well, doesn't matter. Doesn't TL look looveelyyy. And the pamphlet look soooo niicceeeeee.....and shiinnyyy.....=)

THE BWV BOOTH

Anyway, back to real business. THE BOOTH! This was what we hoped to attract the 10,000 over people expected to come to the bazaar. Ria came down at an ungodly hour of 7.00 am to Yew Tee MRT station field. We, on the other hand, thought that we were suppose to be there by 8.00 am! Well, one party came too early, the other one, late (not too late...we arrived at 7.45!). The CORRECT time was 7.30 am.... BAH. Communication errors.

But we managed to get the booth UP! In TIME!

Our booth!

Our...TWO..booths!!

The SIGN Santa's little helpers made!

Ria's photos up on display!

PAMPHLETS FOR SALE!

$2.50 November Special! U.P. $4.00

And 100% goes to MARINE CONSERVATION efforts by BWV!

And then the people started pouring in! AND WE WERE SOOOO SHORT HANDED!!! Soon, we were left with THREE PEOPLE to handle the cash, sales, pamphlets, publicity, talking to public, promoting marine life in Singapore etc.

Oooh...people!

MORE people!

THREE PEOPLE! Anyone out there want to come help out for such events? We SOOO need the help. Just email me at bluetempeh@yahoo.com okays? Hehehehe....

But later on, Jeff Low and Gilian came along! And TL's friend Kim Yong (from NUS High School!). Oh and of course ZEEHAN! (see her thumb below being eaten by the killer whale...). Who wore hot sweltering jeans and a thick POLO T-SHIRT! And the day was SOOOOOOOOOO HOOOTTT..............!!!!!!!!!

THIS little boy wanted to buy a LIONFISH soooo BADLY.
He told his Mama, "I WILL PAY YOU BACK!"
WAS SOOOOO CUUTTEEE!!!! The BOY. NOT the lionfish. I still to my stand that it's UGLY.

JUST LOOK AT IT!! Hideous!....Well, OKlah, not THAAATT baaaddd...

Jeffrey thinks they're DAMN CUTE. For some odd reason.

...............

ANYWAY, enough with the LIONFISH. Ria actually got a FAN. Got her to AUTOGRAPH his Chek Jawa guidebook! Haha! Here's a photo of them...

When I grow up...I want to be JUST like YOU!...well, he didn't ACTUALLY say that. But it would have been so cute if he did, right?

And Ria had a DIFFERENT kind of FAN too. ^&*$%#^ The perks of being Ria. FANS EVERYWHERE.

And of COURSE, what is a fund raising booth and public exhibition booth without GILIAN!

SO SWEEEEET! Ain't she?

Oooh... but can be scary also. So volatile!

OTHER BOOTHS AT THE BAZAAR

Well, the Bazaar was actually quite BIG and there were LOTS of things there! We managed to walk around when it got not too hectic. Here's what the rest of the bazaar sort of looked like...

N Parks brought this cute little CATERPILLAR! IT'S SO CUTE! EATING A LEAF. GRABBING IT WITH IT'S FAT STUBBY LEGS. SO CUUUTTEEE!!! YUM AM AM AM....

There was this anti-litter game too! Teaches people not to throw TRASH into the WRONG bin. i.e. normal trash into RECYCLING BINS. Very much needed education, I think.

Oooh, and PAPER MAKING for kids! I wanted to try...but...so pai-seh!

Well, this one took the bite. What message are they trying to send?
"LOOK! You can EAT...AND CRAP...at the same time! INPUT and OUTPUT!"

And I found out that there were ORCHIDS named after celebrities like SHAH RUKH KHAN. And RICKY MARTIN. And Bae Yong Jun....many more...urgh.

PITCHER PLANTS!! SO MANY!! SO CUTE!!

And THIS is the Singapore Green Map! Like the Southern Shores of Singapore guidesheet/pamphlet... Green Map...meet BLUE Map! =)

AT THE END OF THE DAY...

By 5.30 pm, we packed up to get ready to go. And of course, we got bored too. With so few people around to harrass now...

Zeehan's Thumb: "ARGGHHH HELP MEEE!!! THE KILLER WHALE GOT MEE!!!"

Of course we had to COUNT our fish money. Treasurer Abby hard at work!

And after asking permission, we unscrewed our BWV signboard off our booths to RECYCLE. Hey! It looked nice and saves Santa's little helpers from making another one! hehehehe

And after packing up, we were READY TO GO!

BYE BYE ALLS!!! SEE U NEXT TIME!

The Night Before CLEAN & GREEN WEEK Bazaar!
Seeing how the Blue Water Volunteers may not have any SIGN BOARDS to advertise their presence and urm... to attrach the people coming to the Clean and Green Week Bazaar, two of Santa's little helpers came to the RESCUE!

(Well, they were not really Santa's LITTLE helpers. Only one of them was LITTLE.

Here they are!

The helpers.

They went straight to work using whatever materials they could find! Drawing and colouring and drawing and colouring all night long....

Bit by bit it was done...(although they thought it looked more like PROM banners instead of SAVE OUR MARINE LIFE ones...)

After a night's hard work, they came up with something like THIS:

BWV! And WHALEY the WHALE!

The banner!

And one of Santa's LITTLE helper...transformed to V-WOMAN....

...who mutated to BWV-WOMAN shortly!

Okay Okay... It was LATE. They were running on adrenaline. And they got kind of...you know...

Well, THANKS to Santa's little helpers! BWV has BANNERS! Although they realised that the Southwest CDC had ACTUALLY PROVIDED THE BWV BOOTH WITH NICE WOODEN TITLES WITH NICE BIG WORDINGS SAYING "BLUE WATER VOLUNTEERS". Oh wells... too late for regrets. But I think their banners still look nicer....hehe...

  SOUTHERN SHORES OF SINGAPORE PAMPHLETS!
The DAY has finally arrived!!! The LONG-AWAITED...MUCH-NEEDED...SOUTHERN SHORES OF SINGAPORE pamplets ARE HERE! Finally!!!!

THE FRONT COVER! Ain't it prettyyyyy!!

The inside!

GALORE!

With MORE THAN 100 full coloured photographs taken by Ria. All taken this year. i.e. recent.

Anyway, the pamphlet is sort of a mini-guide to all the wonderful marine life you can find on Singapore's Southern shores! From Labrador park, to Sentosa, to Kusu island...to Hantu, to Sisters' islands, to Saint John's island...to ALL of Singapore's Southern shores.

SO EXCITING!!!!! With stories about our local islands too! Did you know that the Sister's islands actually originated from the legend about 2 sisters called LINA and MINA who were separated because of some evil uncle wanting to marry them off to rich husbands...well, of sorts. It's in the pamphlet!

Anyway, here's some photos of the pamphlet...and some pretty girls. The pamphlets have obviously nothing to do with girls, but so do BEER ADVERTS. Hopefully this will boost sales using...urm...that kind of appeal.

Featuring: ABBY!!! *clap clap clap*

Awww so sweet!!

Give the camera EXCITED!

Give me nonchalant!

Urrmm.......

Come on! Show the camera what you're made of!!

Look at it! So pretty!!! The pamphlet that is...well, Dionne too...

"I love it so much!"

"IT'S MINE MINE MINE!! ALL MINE!!!!"

The perfect pamphlet model!!!! Exquisitteeee....

ALAS!

VOILA!

Yvonne: "WOOOWWWW SO NIICCEE!"

Bah!

Whaley: "Muuuueeehhhh.....ittt'sssss blluuuueeeeeeeeeee annnddd coolloouurrfulll...MUUEEHHHH"
Fifi the dolphin: "Oh! See the pink dolphin on the map? Ria modelled it after ME! Haha!"

Altogether now. The SOS Pamphlet.

Now, if these "ADS" have worked, you will be DYING to get a copy of the SOS pamphlet by now. Not to worry. Wait no longer! I will tell you where you will be able to get these marvellous guidesheets! At a special price too. See, I know a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who tells me that the guidesheets are going for a special rate of $2.50 only for the month of November! (U.P. $4.00!). Cool eh.

And not only do they come in FOLDED PAMPHLET form, but they also come in UNFOLDED POSTER form. So you can Blu-tack it to walls everywhere. You can also use it as alternative wallpaper. I think it's much prettier and more informative than repeating patterns of tiny pink flowers or horrid yellow checkers...Less torture to your eyes. Trust me.

O.K. O.K.! Won't delay in telling you where to get it. By the way, I've got this long story about....Hahha. Just kidding.

Here you go!
